Christmas is over, darn. The silk quilts were a hit as were the silk batting bed pillows complete with silkworm excrement (poop). Luckily, that part is in a small packet that slides in the back of the pillow and can be removed. According to the sales people at the silk factory in beijing, the Chinese people feel the aroma has calming and relaxing qualities. Frankly, I think it smells funny. I took the packet out of my pillow and put the pillow in the dryer with a sachet. Much better!! My brother and SIL liked their Chinese watercolor and were discussing frames and where to take it for framing, so another hit. This was mini album year as well and those who received one were happy as well.

I made two last minis and I'm waiting for the pictures to come back so that I can complete them for our Christmas memories.

I made this with HS Winterfresh. Each page is 6x12 with the right side folded back 4 inches giving a flap on the right side to put the journaling or more pictures behind. It's a quick album that HS showed us while we were in Beijing. (Did I tell you I went to China? I just couldn't resist that.)

It's time for me to get in gear and clean up my SB room and house. I have a week to do it in and then I have to start looking for work. Ughhhh. I'm really liking not getting out of bed until after 9 every morning, but, alas, I do like to eat. And speaking of eating...that's another thing I need to do is take off a couple of pounds.

Glitter and glue to you..

Right on Schedule...

This Christmas Cactus has bloomed right on schedule every year that I have had it. That would be four years without killing it.

By tomorrow, Christmas Day, it should be very close to being in full bloom.

Here's wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas. I know that for some it is feeling a little bleak in this difficult times, but it will get better. I really believe that. So set those thoughts to one side and enjoy the season, the day and family. Be thankful for the wonderful things in your life and that you have these wonderful memories to hang on to.

Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakkuh and Merry Chrisannakkuh to all!!

By Popular Demand...

I am starting a blog. I have no idea how long I will last at this. I'm sure I'll be going gangbusters for the first week. After that, probably not so much. But anyway, here goes...
First, I would like to explain my blog name, HoHo Hums. I'll let you be the judge of which explanation applies. Those of my readers who attended the shopping trip in Nashville know that I received a new nickname, Sandy HoHo or HoHo or just plain HO, to distinguish between me and S. Bobo. To further make things difficult, we are both from the same area. OK, so that explains the HoHo part.
Now for the Hums part. It can mean one or the other or both. It can mean that I am just such a worker bee that I am just hummin' right along or the whole thing can mean "ho hum" as in Big Yawn. You be the judge. I am sure that at one time or another both will apply.
I would like to thank Peg, party of one, who urged this blog beginning and who also took the very flattering picture of me that adorns this blog. Thank you.
I think I see someone on the first row yawning right about now, so I shall finish this first entry and work the esthetics on said blog.
PS-I will bore you from time to time with snippets of my trip of a lifetime to China and being with my BFF Heidi Swapp . Bear with it, I'll get over it in a few months.
